{Dad Told us Stories About Bunnies on Bikes & Mopeds}

As little children we loved to listen to Dad's stories, during lunch time (our hot meal of the day) after coming home from school. Dad had worked on the field and he always fashioned exciting stories about bunnies on bikes and mopeds as they tore through the corn- and pole beans... Dad told these stories with such a vigor that we really BELIEVED him! Too bad, we all had to walk back to school as Dad again could encounter his furry friends once he returned to the fields. These stories are forever in my memory and low and behold, this year's Easter Catalog from Gump's, did show Mr. & Mrs Bunny on their Penny Farthings or High Wheeler. I just could not resist ordering them...
Here they are, cycling in our garden amongst the mosses and the white violets...
Are those not lovely?!
Now on top of our picnic table with bench near the pond with the Japanese Somei Yoshino cherry as backdrop.
Don't worry, they will not drive into each other's wheels. Mrs. Bunny just tries to avoid some bird poop on the table...
This couple of fun bunnies did bring back to life those exciting stories told by Dad!
Even though we in our garden have no rows of corn, nor pole beans...
This is cute enough for reliving my childhood imagination!
Mrs Bunny already did get her bike straight so she will not clash with Mr. Bunny.
Gump's San Francisco offered them.
Easter 2014 will get celebrated different with those fond childhood memories!
Hope you enjoy a lovely Easter Season.
Time is moving so fast...

{Our Vinyl Picket Fence in the Spring}

Just to have a look at how our new section of the Vinyl Picket Fence is looking NOW in the Spring. Remember, on December 17, we did cut that huge 65 Year Old Pine Tree down. Two sections of new Vinyl Picket Fence were added, after husband Pieter did build that Retainer Wall as step 1 of our Water Control Project.
That Retainer Wall underneath the Vinyl Picket Fence DOES keep the rain water from the higher street section away from our home.
Therefore I would love to link up to Theresa's: The Run *A*Round Ranch Report with Good Fences #3 - Just click above hyperlink and visit her incredible blog!
To the left is our Japanese Magnolia unfolding its new leaves. To the right you see the golden new leaves from the tall oak tree.
This is on December 13, only 4 days before that huge Pine Tree to the left got cut down...
The tall oak tree is to the right.
You can tell that the road is quite up high, looking over that picket fence. That's why the water came streaming down the hill towards our home.
Our cat-girl Tiggy-Tiger next to the 65 year old pine tree on December 13, is dreaming about spring I guess...
The magnolia tree was budding out here.
Just cleaned out our Bird Bath as it was filled with catkins and got slimy. Now it can be filled up again for our feathered friends.
Don't you like the new Spring Look in the first and last picture?

{Our Patio Tiles Are DONE!}

Yep, our glazed ceramic tiles in Sunset are all done! So here is the result at our bay window area.
Photo is from April 3, with beautiful weather and our dogwood tree in front of the gazebo blooming.
Also the ginger bread from Vintage Woodworks stands out here.
The tiles got laid just in time before the rain started...
Lovely light... Trees with their new leaves unfolding in all shapes of green.
Catkins from the tall oak are falling off.
Here you can see the slanted patio when you look at the bricks of the stair case.
This is as part of our water control, to lead all the gutter overflow and the water from the sky away from the house via the gutter at the patio's end.
Different angle and showing more of our Fiberglass Window Boxes with white petunias.
Sunny and the hummingbird feeder is filled up again.
Another mini patio on top of the concrete that Pieter poured himself, where once the gas tank resided.
The tank is now to the left and this looks a lot friendlier with all the potted tropical jasmines.
They seem to have survived that last winter freeze...
Now waiting for their blooms.
Rose Stepping Stones lead to these planters that husband Pieter has all painted over, as they had faded away. They too have rose reliefs all over!
Do you like the patio parts?
